Club Late Music (CLM) is an open-source and collaborative music label. Born between Paris and London in 2015, it seeks to explore the ways of producing and promoting musical projects by gathering an enlarged community (GUN) driving all the projects and releases.
Club Late Music attempts to represent an artistic movement stimulated by experimental club music, using photography, videos and new technologies as mediums of experimentation. The so-called URL culture and its capacity to bind musical and visual substrates and practices is constitutive of its artistic approach.
In April 2017, Club Late Music initiated the GUN project - as in Global URL Nation. Inspired by the free and open-source software approach, GUN gathers a diverse community of artists, designers and enthusiasts into an international network based on collaboration, the sharing of knowledge and of creative resources.
Combining the different musical influences and understandings of club music, GUN seeks to question the idea of collective intelligence in the production and diffusion of artistic contents by incorporating the style and ideas of each contributor.
Using various mediums, processes and formats inherited from contemporary cyberculture, it multiplies collaborative, decentralized experiments, from EPs and compilations to audiovisual projects, installations or live acts.

narrative audiovisual mix series

Developed via Club Late Music x Global URL Nation, Ghostwares is a narrative audiovisual mix series introducing virtual creatures, sentient beings, ancestral spirits or forgotten deities that inhabit and navigate through the network and other intricate layers of our technological ecosystem.
For each episode, two members of the Global URL Nation - a musician and a visual artist - pair together to produce a music video with an emphasis on storytelling.
From figurative representations to more abstract interpretations, the series then builds a sort of bestiary, where each episode introduces an entity, with its own sonic and visual characteristics, and its own personality. Over the years, it will seek to create a multidimensional environment, an imaginary landscape welcoming these mysterious creatures - an interface between their respective worlds, and ours.

The Great Sleep is a series of 13 narrative audio mixes
aired on Internet Public Radio every first Thursday of the month from
December 2019 to December 2020. For each episode, a musician and a
visual artist from the Global URL Nation collaborate to develop the
story with audiovisual material - a 1h mix and a visual cover, which
then serve as a base for written text. Each month, a new
chapter is meant to be heard, seen and read.

Interbeings inaugurates the UNITED series of collaborative releases of CLMxGUN, aimed at exploring further the aesthetics of collective intelligence and processes of collaboration.
For each EP in the series, one member of the GUN community collaborates freely with other producers and artists of their choice.
Contemplating the void of current dystopian narratives and widespread pessimism, it blends vocal entities, organic textures and rythmic hybrids to present us with a touch of hope to be found in collective action. Paired with a text and series of visual works, the release seeks to question collective intelligence as the foundation of emerging beliefs and newborn organizations, and aims to highlight the importance of both physical and virtual spaces as means to establish and expand commoning practices.

Into ∅
Caught up in accelerating cycles of production, the power of creation annihilated our own existence. Insatiable growth and prosperity spread a contagious disease, putting a price on everything and a value on nothing. As quantified bits of information set a breeding ground for competition, enclosures of all sorts dissolved the very substrate of social bonding, progressively reducing relationships to the exchange of financial value.Productivity, efficiency and progress were quickly followed by anxiety, frustration and distress. The quest for the optimal individual led to fear, mistrust and loneliness, pulling away any idea of a common purpose or shared ambitions. Yet ever more connected, we felt further fragmented, drifting apart in a comfortable state of neutralization. Individual goals of advancement, acquisition and personal comfort at the expense of others atomized social bonds, leaving a social vacuum filled with violence and coercion. Daily life space had become one of order and control.
Everything seemed so entrenched and inescapable that we created our own palliative tranquilizers, distracted by machines in the name of entertainment. We projected ourselves, with all our worries and doubts, into an ideal plane whose frictionless architecture was supposed to appease the unbearable burden of our bodies - down to our very own perception of reality.
Fueled by the rhetoric of a bestial human nature, the Fall itself became a weapon of order, growing on the ubiquitous fear of a permanent emergency. It became awaited such a prophet that would put an end to our suffering and discord. A prophecy whose sole purpose was to enforce submission by shaking every certitudes and hopes. An end that would make us feel alive - and lucky to be so. At some point, it became the very fuel driving the machine to its ruin - the idea of a sustainable annihilation acclaimed in a macabre dance over our own graves.
It seemed the Fall could only be made of memories and tears. Its Void first filled the inside of our souls, morphing into an existential crisis. Struggling to let go of our anthropocentric trope, all we were left with were wandering hybrids, prototypes and virtual systems scavenging the last components and resources in a desperate quest to escape obsolescence. Over time, nature and wildlife reclaimed their rights among our bleak and silent remains. However, in its destructive power it allowed for new frames of thought. We assumed there was no alternative, but they are many. Once the Void becomes purged of its ominous consideration, it can be used as a tool for hope. Not the hope to get back to a comfortable and secure life, but the hope in a living and thriving Whole. When there is nothing left to believe in, should we not believe in ourselves?
We cannot cope alone, but as psychic systems, we extend beyond our surroundings, constantly connecting and anchoring ourselves in the Whole. Its unconscious mass creates a new sense of purpose, showing a path to redemption. Its existence fills the radical incompleteness of the individual, whose self-reliance is achieved only in connection with others.
Driven by our primal need for communion, the same one that used to keep us on our screens, we will forge a new sense of belonging. We will search for tools and techniques that allow us to merge our intellectual and spriritual strengths. We will salvage our existence and our place. We will reclaim ourselves.
But we shall proceed with infinite caution, one step leading to the other. New links weaves as a common ground erects : through time and experimentations - and the temporality of a thriving Whole is a one of slow-pace. As in a ceremonial dance, we shall learn to gradually adjust our gestures to enter into a quiet and complex synchrony. Our quest for autonomy can't be driven by the very thing that brought us to this point. If we don’t want to be fooled by desires induced by an external apparatus, we shall reconsider ourselves. To avoid the collective becoming another commodity, trading authenticity as its new currency, what should we focus on to build something whole? What should we believe in?
Inviscid
w/ Tendre Ael
Unconditional openness takes ourselves to a new form of immanence. By continuously involving new intelligences and subjectivities, the Whole is able to keep its momentum. Caught in perpetual motion, we are able to reconsider, reassess and evolve, altering our own perception in the process. Shifting boundaries and expanding thresholds prompt us to redefine our bonds and structures. As a continuous flow circles solid rocks, flexibility shall make us resilient.
Fragments In A Whole
w/ Avbvrn & BORA
Difference is the cornerstone of empathy, the starting point of creation. When our subjectivities intersect under the umbrella of understanding, an heterotopic space becomes the breeding ground for the acceptance of the other and the discovery of the self. Intersubjectivity leads us towards the expansion of our personalities : only when confronted with other fragments can a shattered identity become whole anew. Each layer, from its inherent qualities, shall then bring a genuine contribution to the emergence of the Whole.
Object-Oriented Habitat
Object-Oriented Habitat
w/ New Fear
The Whole exists across dimensions and materialities, flattening scales and temporalities. The sharing of a common purpose among each constitutive part of its ecosystem is the base of consistent evolution. The management, protection and sharing of its resources serve the long-term interest of its parts, may they be sentient or not. Only by preventing the destruction of what is valued in our own habitat will we be able promote the creation of what we want.
Subjects Of Sharing (Bathing In Light)
w/ WHORLTOOTH
Knowledge soothes the incompleteness of the individual by opening up potentialities. It allows us to define new baselines of thinking. Illuminating minds, its propagation is heightened in transparency. Transmission, refraction and exchange through cooperations and interactions accelerate its enlightening capabilities. The Whole thrives in a pool of wisdom, filled with light by the generous sharing of our experiences. Fully immersed, we will be able to merge and experience higher sensitive environments.
